Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

It’s certainly been long enough since I’ve added anything new to the shop. All these items can be seen in both my shop on this site, as well as at http://danclark.etsy.com. If you like Swarovski crystals, or anything that sparkles, you’ll want to take a look. Here are just a couple to peak your interest.

Yes, I’ve been working on more pearl earrings! These ones have some different colors than the first batch, but both are equally beautiful! Take a look and see if there are any that you like.

Also, I’ll be on vacation next week, so I’m thinking of running some type of sale while I’m gone, to make up for the delay in shipping that will be caused. Anyone have any ideas for a type of sale you’d like to see? I’m always open to suggestions.

Who Doesn’t Love Pearls?

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Ok, so I can actually think of quite a few people who don’t like them, but I’m not one of them. Especially when you can get them in all kinds of cool colors, like the ones featured in my newest shop listings.

Here’s a pic of all of them together. View their listings here to see bigger shots of individual pairs.

Check Out Sandy’s Earrings!

These earrings are incredible! They’re made of polymer clay, pinata inks, and “flakes”. I can’t think of what these flakes are called, but you can usually find them in the paper-making section of your local craft store. I’ve found them at both Michaels and AC Moore. I’ve used them in a faux opal technique, but I’m definitely going to have to try this out. If you look back a few posts (on Sandy’s Blog) she talks more about working with the tinted flakes. Her blog is a definite read if you have any interest in polymer clay.

The End of Semester Woes and Some Random Babbling

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

I hate the end of Spring semester. All my ambition to do well just vanishes with the first slightly warm day of the year. I have about 4 more weeks left of classes. In those 4 weeks I have a presentation on working with homeless adolescents, a paper on Mozart, and a paper on utilizing behavior modification techniques on clients with schizophrenia. It doesn’t help that the winter here in Maine has been so ridiculously long and nasty this year either. Now, we’ve had a string of days with temps above 40 degrees, and I just don’t want to do anything but lay outside. I went a little psycho on one of the last remaining piles of snow in my backyard, and now it’s gone. That’s a good thing.

I’m even finding it hard to focus on building up my inventory. I think I’m going to hire a web designer to help get my site looking a little better.

The show that I’ve previously mentioned is going to be at Artascope next month. It’s not so much a “show” in the regular sense. I’m going to be the featured member for that month, and get to have my work in the gallery. But I’m calling it a show anyway, cause it’s still rather exciting for me. And there’s an opening. If you happen to be in or around Portland Maine, the opening is Saturday, May 10, during the Second Saturday Art Stroll. Stop on by, I’d love to see you

Actually, I’ve also started stewarding at the studio as well, so if you’re ever in the area, stop on by. I’m there Saturdays from 2-7pm, and often on Sundays as well.
