Blog Review - A Little Hut

Little Red Riding HoodWhat can you do with a piece of paper and a pair of scissors? If you’re Patricia from A Little Hut, you can do quite a bit. Decorative and functional at the same time. Simple and beautiful. Patricia takes a piece of plain paper, makes a few snips, and somehow manages to turn it into a thing of beauty.Junk Mail Trees

I’m especially fond of her junk mail trees, which were what first attracted me to her site. If you’re into papercraft, expect to spend some serious time pouring through the archives. And definitely subscribe to her feed. I’m consistently surprised and impressed with her originality and the freshness of her designs.

A Clean Slate

I kid you not, my server did NOT want me to get my old blog back up the way it was. I tried restoring it over and over again, and it would be fine for an hour or so, then it would disappear into the void. I don’t know what that was all about, but I’m pretty sure that it was some sort of sign. So, I’m starting new. I found a few cool themes that I can rotate through as I get bored. I’m limiting the number of plug-ins and widgets I have, as I think that is what caused all my problems to begin with. Looking back over my sad little posts on “the other blog”, I think it’s safe to say that I need to move in a new direction. I’ve been working on improving my photography skills, so I’m not to upset to see some of the rather garish pics go away. I’ve also set my “write” page as my firefox start page, so I’ll be prompted to write SOMETHING every time I open my browser. Mind you, I’m in no way guaranteeing that I will write every day, but hopefully it will get me off my butt a little more frequently. I’m also in the market for a new blog backup system. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m open to just about anything. Anything, that is, except my previous method, that is.
